A lot happened in the past month, mainly because Eric's sister Angie and her family visited for two weeks. Angie, Neil, Drew (3 years), and Simon (13 months) were great to have around, and Elodie got to spend a lot of quality time with her cousins and aunt and uncle.
There are way too many cute photos to post, but here's a whole family portrait, and one of all three kids. It was surprising how rare it was to get all three kids together at once. It seemed like at least one kid was napping at any given time!

It was really endearing how much Drew and Simon love their baby cousin. Simon would always grin and make a beeline for Elodie whenever he saw her, and would love to put his hands on her. We always reminded him to touch her gently :).
Drew was a little shyer outwardly about his affection for Elodie, but he liked to help with her however he could. I loved our daily conversations which went something like this...
Me or Eric: Elodie, say good morning to your cousin Drew!
Drew (sheepishly reminding us with a big smile): She doesn't talk yet.
As for Elodie herself, she is maturing in a lot of small ways. She has much better neck/head control now, and we started being able to put her in a Bumbo seat recently (a cushiony seat that helps her sit up on her own). She also smiles a lot for specific reasons (e.g., if I smile/coo at her), which is heartwarming to see.
She has also been sleeping better at night, but her sleep always changes, so I don't want to jinx myself. But in general, she sleeps about 10-12 hours at night (typically around 10pm - 9am), including one or two short wake-ups.
Things Elodie Currently Loves:
- Licking/sucking on her hands. She always seems to have some combination of fingers (or her whole fist) in her mouth now. She hasn't quite gotten the hang of sucking her thumb, but she's getting there.I had to keep moving her hand away from her mouth for her 3 month photo shoot, but this one is still cute :)
- "Talking". Elodie coos and "talks" a lot. She has long conversations with me and others, when we go back and forth "talking" with her. She is very vocal! Here's a short video of her talking with her auntie Mia. ("eemo" = aunt in Korean)
- Continuing from last month, she still loves to be held standing up, and she also loves her bath time. We started "showering" her everyday in the bathtub using the handheld shower, so she has graduated from the kitchen sink!
Current dislikes
- Not too much that I can think of, except drinking from the bottle (still!).
- It's getting harder for her to take decent naps if we're not at home or moving in the car.
- I think she's starting to dislike being swaddled... we will need to transition her out of being swaddled for sleeping times pretty soon. Today, I started swaddling her with one arm out for naps, and she seemed to be okay.
I'll leave you with some more 3-month photos.

Look at how sassy she is in those standing 3-month photos! Thanks again for a wonderful visit. We love you, Elodie!
