I'm really looking forward to our next doctor visit in a week (Oct 11). I'm anxious to see how our WuBerry is doing!!
Update by Eric on 10/7/2013: Hannah had a very specific craving for chocolate-covered, custard-filled doughnuts last night on the way home from a hike in Belmont. If that's not a craving, I'm not sure what is!
Talking to the baby
I'm assuming most pregnant people do this, but Eric and I talk to the baby most nights, right before I sleep.
When I first found out I was pregnant, I was VERY scared and paranoid that I would have a miscarriage. People told me to just stay/think positive, but that's too abstract for me and I still had a hard time not worrying. Then my acupuncturist (who I trust and has been a GREAT resource for me) told me to think about my baby growing inside me. That was really helpful, and ever since then, I talk to our WuBerry and encourage him/her. "You're doing so well, and growing so much! Keep up the great job! Stay in there! Mommy and daddy love you!"... stuff like that :)
Week 11 photo and status
Nearing the end of my first trimester! Baby is currently the size of a fig!
- Weight: Still at -2 pounds compared to pre-pregnancy weight. It's normal for most women to gain about 2-5 pounds during the first trimester, but I've heard of many women losing weight too. And I still see changes in my body -- a little thicker around my middle.
- Appetite/Cravings: Generally trying to eat more, mainly by snacking in between meals (which I typically don't do). No specific cravings. Slight aversion to meat and veggies haha. Still eating lots of carbs.
- Mood/Energy: Same -- Generally pretty good, but tired, especially in the afternoons. Haven't noticed crazy mood swings this week, except when I got really sad/teary reading about a PwC Director (who I don't know personally) whose toddler has cancer :( so people organized a blood drive to show support
- Sleep: Sleeping well, and usually 7-8 hours/night during the week. Waking up once every night to go pee (which I definitely never had to do before)!
